Many times it happens, the things left unsaid. Letters to My Ex is a story of things left unsaid and unspoken words and trying to discover what it was and how it affected their relationship and bring them to a crossroad.

They visited again and rewind the time they spent together in the café, on the streets hand in hand and conversations they had over the phone calls and still few things they afraid to say to each other. Why did that happen? We discover it in the book.

The plot is great, in fact, unique which makes it different. I was more intrigue in the story just because of the plot. The storyline is good that is in the form of letters but could have been better. I am not completely impressed how the story runs through the pages. This is not her best work.

The thing I like about the story is the way protagonist Nidhi bared it all in the letters she writes to her ex. She said it all and opened her heart to Abhay to read it like a book. Nidhi knew what she wants from life and Abhay and not afraid to say it and take the plunge. The character of Nidhi is a strong girl.

The author sketched the characters beautifully. The characters are sorted and the author knew where to take the story. It is a short book which hardly takes few hours. Looking for a new plot story. Give it a try.

A story of love and togetherness. A story of heartbreaks and hopes. A story of unfulfilled promises.

Rating – 3.5/5 stars

Number of Pages – 248

Publisher – Fingerprint Publishers

This is a story of two souls crossing paths again and again by fate and fell in love accidentally. Will destiny bring them together never to part them? This is a story of Vihaan Shastri and Zaira Bhat. Vihaan, a young and dynamic boy seeing his future in politics lost his heart to Zaira. Zaira never able to fall in love again lost her heart to Vihaan.

The love affair begins in 1990 to not end ever. It is a story of eternal love and what it takes to love someone eternally. Loving someone more than your life and losing them, again and again, seeing her go away from your hands when it was so near to get hold and stop. A love story tangled in political aspirations and dreams.

The story constitutes some real events supporting the plot and pushes the story further such as India’s counter strike in 2016. The two leaps in the story are interesting to watch shaping their lives but did not change their feelings for each other. It is interesting to see the development of the story flowing smoothly through time and travel.

The plot is interesting with intriguing storyline settled in the backdrop of Kashmir and its troubled fortune. The story raises many questions and the protagonist as a young politician has ambitious plans to bring peace in the valley and to their people who deserve more than an unsettled life surrounded by the blooded fate of Kashmir. It also tells how a politician should be.

The poems are good and leave you wanting more of them. A simple story of love and its complications. A story that does not end on the last page of the book and goes beyond.

37538771.jpgAuthor – Koral Dasgupta

Rating – 5/5 stars

Number of Pages – 252

Publisher – Rupa Publications

Rasia is a story of dance, passion and obsession. A man passionate about his craft of dancing. A wife, a student and a perfect partner. A made for each other couple. A stubborn and obsessed girl. A Bharatnatyam show in Manhattan which brings them all on one stage.

The story revolves around dance and passion. Raj Shekhar Subramaniam keeping his unhappy and unfortunate past behind and giving his dream a bigger picture trying to run ahead of time. He wants to shadow his past with the clinquant future so no one questions his past and he will have nothing to regret. His passion for Bharatanatyam is uncompromising.

The story captivates you as soon you get in the forty-fifty pages in the book. The characters of Raj Shekhar Subramaniam and Vatsala Pandit are mysterious and interesting. I like the way the author explores the characters and give them space to come forward and speak the readers directly. The characters communicate with you and open their heart to peek in.

The character of Mansi is simple and well sorted. She has nothing to hide. She is at peace with her life and happy to see her husband grow and support his passion for Bharatnatyam. She is an obedient student and a perfect partner for life and dance.

The story is perfect and worked well for me. A journey of a self-made man behind whose lie the contribution of two women. One who supported him and stands as a rock and other challenged him to perform on stage with her. Find out who is a better partner with him on stage.

A story of the dance of desire. An excellent story, well articulated and superbly narrated. The story speaks perfection.

Life is what you make it. Things do not happen after cautioning you about their arrival but you are expected to be prepared for them. This is how life is, unexpected and full of surprises. The life of protagonist of this story is somewhat same and goes through a lot of twists and took unexpected turns tests his patience and will to carry on with the dreams with the weight of fear of losing his love.

When Love Happens is a story of a boy, Nish. He falls in love with his classmate while in school, G. G is from a conservative family and her family doesn’t approve of their relationship though G never promised anything to Nish. Nish always wished a future with her and hope of a life together. Little did Nish knew that that love will have a lasting impact on his life and career and also decides the person he is going to become. They remain friends and their relationship goes on and off all this while he was chasing his dreams and trying to balance both.

The story runs in a fast track mode which needs to be slowed down a bit and allow the readers to engage with the characters and relate to the story and the mood of the characters. The plot is good and the storyline is common and the writing could have been better. The story has a lot of scopes which author failed to utilize and exploit the possibilities to make it a better version. It is hard to fall in love with the story that does not have a body.

Every book, good or bad, requires the same dedication and effort from the writer and I respect the efforts of the author but readers too expect a good book worthy of his time and money from the author.

A nice and innocent love story but storytelling did not meet my expectations.

Recommended for romance readers. The story is like crunchy wafer wrapped in a chocolate. The author draws an interesting sketch of the life of the lovers of a new age. She tries to untangle love and relationships in today’s digital world. It’s witty and romantic. I find it little filmy. The story has lots of drama you find in Bollywood romantic movie. The greatest and strongest of relations is the bond of friendship. Just friends is a story to celebrate this relation. Well, you not only get one but two stories of the bond of friendship in one book.

This is a story of Aaryan and Boza; they are best friends. They can’t live without each other. They need each other more than they need food to survive. They are partners in crime. They talk about everything and all the time. Yet, they don’t love each other.

This is a story of Sumer and Tanie; they are best friends. He cares for her more than he cares for anything in this world and can do anything to see a smile on her face. She can’t imagine a life without him and trusted him blindly. Yet, they don’t love each other.

This is a tale of two best friends who navigate their way through their teenage years figuring out if they are just best friends or more than that. What they have between them is more than a friendship and little less than a love. Will they ever figure out the thing they share or will remain just friends?

The plot of the story is good but the narration could have been better. It was really a tiring read. The cover of the book is attractive and the blurb is intriguing but doesn’t go with the writing style of the story. It’s a light read. If you are looking for a light-hearted, young-adult, teenage romance, one-time read, you can give this a chance but do not expect too much and I don’t promise you anything. Because I can’t say I am fully satisfied with the book.

Author Bio

Sumrit Shahi is one of the youngest bestselling authors in the country. He wrote his first novel, Just Friends, at the age of seventeen which became a bestseller, followed by other successful novels, Never Kiss Your Best Friend and Can a Girl and a Boy be….. Just Friends?

Sumrit is also a screenwriter and has written for six youth-based shows, including Sadda Haq: My Life, My Choice on Channel V India which won the Youth Show (Fiction) category at the Zee Gold Awards in 2014 and at the Indian Telly Awards in 2014 and 2015.

In 2015, Sumrit was chosen by Hindustan Times in the list of Top 30 Under 30 young achievers in the country, terming him as a ‘writing rockstar of the young’.

This is a Young Adult story of two teenagers packed with funny moments. The story is interesting and fun to read with funny and angry episodes of their life and love. A love story. A mystery of lost artefact. A story of modern age Prince fell in love with an art curator called to catalog the antique collection belonging to Ranaut Estate. A love story weaved in with the mystery of lost and stolen artefact, a very rare Faberge. One of the rarest of its kind. It’s called The Angel with Egg in a Chariot. It’s an entertaining romance and mystery story and highly recommended for all the romance readers.

Shefali Verma works with her aunt Kalpana as an art curator. She is also her guardian after Shefali lost her parents at the tender age of twelve. Aryan Ranaut, prince of Ranaut Dynasty of Rajasthan famous among the girls for his charming looks and royal status. All goes well until one day The Angel got missing and all fingers pointed at Shefali.

I am impressed with the writing of the author. The story is a mix of mystery and romance and woven beautifully. All the characters in the book have portrayed well. The ending of the book is a bit dramatic. The story is engaging and full of romance. If you like high-octane romance reads, this is for you and the story won’t disappoint you.

A love story of Neil and Gauri living a life of comfort and love and like any other love story, this story too has their share of bitterness, arguments and some secrets.

Neil and Gauri are so much in love and married. They are happy and doting young married couple leading their personal and professional life with equitable balance. But, there is a third angle to this story and that is Srinya. Srinya is fitness consultant of Neil which he kept secret from his wife. Why?

Drishti and Somesh are married but not happily. They are bored of their mundane professional life which demands most of the hours of the day and left with no time for the other. With a bizarre circumstance, they happened to bump into each other in Cuba and trouble entered in their life. All hell broke loose when Drishti gets abducted and Neil is framed for it. Gauri finds out some secrets of the life of Neil and this is the end of their relationship. Will he get back together? What are the secrets Gauri came to know? Their lives are Messed Up! But all for Love.

This is a Book1 of romantic thriller Trilogy. The next upcoming title in Messed Up series is ‘The Girl on My Side’. You have a fair chance to read it before the next part came which is a prequel to this book. The book is a breezy read. It’s a love story recommended for the lovers of this genre. The pace of the story is good except at few places the Hindi dialogues and song lyrics breaks the rhythm. They are like a small pause not needed at all. I find it good for a one time read. It’s a smooth and simple read.
