Standing tall and green, he looks down on every passerby with benevolence. When someone stops underneath, he tries to protect them from heat and rain. When someone feels hungry he gives his fruits happily.

Every year he becomes little taller, little broader and digs deep into the earth. His only companions are the birds who came every day without a miss to talk to him and few made their home on it. He doesn’t mind. He is here to give. He was told.

It was the most frightening time of this year. He shed all the leaves, birds left him and no one comes to shade. He was standing tall but not green. He was standing bare and naked. But, he knew, soon the season came and he will start a new beginning.
